Underground Mine Tunnel Modelling Using Laser Scan Data in Relation to Manual Geometry Measurements

Underground mine tunnels, drifts, and headings are susceptible to the impact of convergence. The convergence has a big influence on further measurements such as airflow volume concentration methane other gases. In most cases, deformation arch supports lead getting smaller cross-section area. A comparison is made between five methods measuring cross-sectional area tunnel. reference size six drift areas were obtained by Terrestrial Laser Scanning, which then compared with four methods. following considered: calculation using CAD software, an empirical method, approximation semi-ellipse attached straight sections. This article presents quantitative qualitative differences results. Differences in calculated discussed, reasons for determined. addition, advantages disadvantages each method indicated.
